Oregon Tradeswomen Inc, in partnership with Green Dot Etcetera, Oregon construction contractors, BOLI/ODOT, and PSU researchers, is piloting an adaptation of the Green Dot bystander intervention program for the highway construction trades. This program aims to reduce harassment on construction job sites. In order to assess whether or not the intervention program has an effect on workplace hostility in the short and medium term, PSU researchers will work closely with the project collaborators to develop and conduct a three wave survey of workers on the pilot job sites where the Green Dot bystander intervention program is implemented. Success of the project will be indicated by a decrease in workers’ experiences of job site harassment as well as an increase in bystander interventions when workplace harassment is observed.
