Amy Lubitow
Amy Lubitow

Portland State University

Dr. Amy Lubitow is a professor of Environmental Science and Management at Portland State University. She received her Ph.D. in 2011 in sociology from Northeastern University. She is an interdisciplinary social scientist who focuses on the social and environmental dynamics of urban public spaces. Prior to joining the faculty of Environmental Science and Management, she was part of the sociology faculty here at PSU. Dr. Lubitow's research is broadly focused on qualitative and mixed methods research that explores how people are mobile. She is particularly interested in how transportation systems, pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, and social dynamics enable or constrain people’s movements in urban areas and how that movement influences our capacities for sustainable futures.
